Sachi Imai
Sachiyo Imai of Lihu’e, Kauai, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Apr. 25, 2002 at the age of 80.
Born in Yamaguchi, Japan on March 21, 1922, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by son, Glenn (Setsuko) Imai of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Irene (Masahiko) Fujito of Wailua, Kaua’i and Eiko Imai of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers; two sisters; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and nieces. Private services were held.

Beatrice Antalan
Beatrice Ortiz Antalan of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died April 25, 2002, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 83.
The manager of a senior center, she was born June 1, 1917, in Hawai’i.
She is survived by four sisters: Constance Aquino of Waimea, Feliza Quizon of Omao, Julia Smith of Waianae, and Aurora Lo of O’ahu; and seven brothers: Lucas Ortiz of ‘Ele’ele, Eduardo Malapit of Po’ipu, William Malapit of Maui, Mark Malapit of Kalhaeo, Earl Malapit of Po’ipu and Manuel Malapit of California; nieces, nephews adn cousins.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, May 2, at St. Raphael’s Chruch in Koloa from 2 pm.. to 2:45 p.m. where services will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Rachel Pilani Kulanikea Bright of Aiea, died April 21, 2002, at her home at the age of 81.
She is survived by sons John (Feona) Kahoohanohano of Nanakuli, Clifford (Irene) Kahoohanohano, Wailuku, Charlie (Eileen) Bright, Kahaluu, Oliver (Gail) Bright, Jr., Nanakuli; daughters: Nancy (Richard) Barraclough, of Kona; Emily (Paul) Arnold of South Carolina, Hattie (Albert) Perkins of Kaneohe, Vicklynn (Ernest) Gomes of Wailuku, Ana (Joseph) Kamaka of Wailuku,; brothers: Wallace Kupihea of Kauai, Henry (Mona) Kupihea of Kauai, George Dwight Kupihea of Honolulu; sisters; Mary Maunakea of Texas, Elaine Watson of Kauai, Grace Fitzgerald of Kauai, Dorothy Goo of Kailua, Deborah Muff of Florida, Yolanda Rosa of Kauai, Kelani Torres of Kauai; 20 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitaiton will be from 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Churcho f Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Aiea Ward, 99-641 Pohue Rd., Halawa. Service will begin at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 4, at 9 a.m. at Maui Memorial Park, Wailuku, Maui.
The family asks that flowers be omitted and suggests aloha attire.. Arrangements are being handled by Leeward Funeral Home.
Joseph Pia
Joseph Kaleikini Pia of Anahola, Kaua’i, died April 20, 2002, at Wilcox Hospital at the age of 59.
A dry waller, he was born Sept. 13, 1942, in Lihu’e, Kaua’i.
He is survived by his wife: Sherry Pia of Anahola; three daughters: Leina Pia of Lihu’e, Rayna Pia of Puhi and Frances (Venancio) Hernandez-Martinez of Anahola; one son: Joey (Kahala) Pia of Anahola; four brothers: John (Suzanne) Pia of Anahola, George Pia of Anahola, Arthur Pia of Kapa’a, and Hiram (Karen) Pia of Nawiliwili; two sisters: Ruby (Gary) Cummings of Anahola and Lili (Charles) Kiilau of Hanama’ulu; and six grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Friday, May 3, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kapaa Public Cemetery.

Rosalina Alquiza
Rosalina “Saling” Pagat Alquiza died in the Philippines on April 10, 2002, at the age of 63.
A travel agent and sales representative, she was born in Caraitan, Ilocos Norte, on Aug. 10, 1938. She came to Hawai’i to join her family in 1983.
She is survived by her husband: Tony Alquiza; children Charito Ragasa of the Philippines, Rosemarie (Mario) Dulatre of Lihu’e, Rogelio (Dina) Ragasa of Hanapepe, Felymar (Yolanda) Ragasa of Hanama’ulu, Rheme (Cynthia) Ragasa of Las Vegas, Marfyn (Marilyn) Ragasa of Lihu’e, and Eldy (Annabel) Ragasa of Kilauea; siblings Amante Pagat Inay, Santos Pagat, Carlina Iglesia, and Felicisimo Pagat, all of the Philippines; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa. Rosary at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 4, at the Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo at 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. ; burial to follow at Lihu’e Cemetery.
