On Sunday, April 7, the YWCA of Kauai held its first annual Golf Tournament at the Kauai Lagoon’s Mokihana course. It was a beautiful sunny day for the 118 golfers who came out to support the YWCA’s programs for abused women and children.
Many people were involved in making this event a success and we would like to say “Mahalo” for their support. Sharron Webber, of Tire Warehouse, served as our Chairperson and did an outstanding job in promoting the tournament and donated a cooler bag for each golfer. King Auto sponsored the hole-in-one with the prize being a Honda Civic that regrettably no one won.
Bruddah Joe provided the lovely Hawaiian music during the awards luncheon and B.B. Choi of FM 97 did an outstanding job as Master of Ceremonies and also joined in as a golfer.
The YWCA of Kauai looks forward to its second annual golf tournament in 2003 and sends its thanks to many businesses and individuals who supported this event with their contributions of great prizes and gifts for the golfers. Mahalo to all the volunteers who both helped plan the tournament and made it happen on tourney day.
