The Poipu Beach Foundation’s Koloa Heritage Trail self-guided tour and brochure won a Kahili Award at the recent Keep It Hawaii awards program.
The foundation won the prestigious award in the historic preservation category of the annual awards program, sponsored by the Hawai’i Visitors & Convention Bureau.
The trail allows visitors to make 13 stops along 12.5 miles of walking, biking and driving routes, and learn of the South Shore’s five million years of natural history, archaeology and culture, all the way to modern-day Hawai’i.
The West Kauai Visitor Center’s Uniquely Hawaiian Program won an award of merit in the programs category.
TS Restaurants, which owns and operates Duke’s Canoe Club at the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club along Kalapaki Beach, and Keoki’s Paradise in Poipu Shopping Center, won a certificate of merit in the restaurants category.
There were record numbers of entries received, both overall and in specific categories, the HVCB said.
