What to do, what to do?
The Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation (KIF) continues to hibernate as the rains tear through the island this week.
Due to unplayable conditions at Ron Martin Baseball Field in Kapa’a, the KIF baseball match-up between Kaua’i and Kapa’a has been postponed until the end of the first round. The game will be played only if the first round standings deem it necessary.
Currently, the baseball league has played two regular season games. The Kaua’i Red Raiders have two wins, no losses; the Waimea Menehunes have two losses, no wins; and the Kapa’a Warriors have no wins, no losses.
KIF baseball may commence in its Hanapepe double-header on Saturday. The Menehunes will host the Warriors twice, first game starting at 11:00 a.m. But according to weather reports, Friday and the beginning of Saturday may return rain and thunderstorms, and the games might get called off.
Just like the rest of the KIF, we’ll have to wait and see.
Since our favorite day is Good Friday this week, the girl’s basketball game rescheduled for Saturday at Kapa’a High School may be cancelled. KIF Golf’s fourth week – it’s tourney at Mokihana Golf Course slated for 11:30 a.m. Saturday – may be cancelled, and the KIF Tennis match-up at Kiahuna (10 a.m. start time) may also be cancelled on that day.
How long do we have to wait to get out KIF action back? Who knows. You can’t always trust the weather guy. But for now all there is to say is:
What to do, what to do?
