Katsumi Saiki of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Mar. 11, 2002, at the age of 87.
Born in Kapa’a, Kaua’i on Feb. 9, 1915, he was a Maintenance Supervisor with Wilcox Hospital.
He is survived by wife, Bernice of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; son, Roy of Kapa’a, Kaua’i; brothers, Mineichi Saiki of Kapa’a, Kaua’i and Clarence Hideo Saiki of Chicago, Ill.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Asao Fukumoto
Asao Fukumoto of Koloa, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Mar. 13, 2002 at the age of 101.
Born in Koloa, Kaua’i on Mar. 3, 1901, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, Ken (Tsuruko) Fukumoto of Koloa, Kauai, Joe (Ena) Fukumoto of Honolulu, O’ahu, Ted (Alice) Fukumoto of Oceanside, Calif., Randy (Esther) Fukumoto of Gardena, Calif., Gary (Betty) Fukumoto of Gardena, Calif., and Gaylord (Susan) Fukumoto of Puhi, Kaua’i; daughters, Janet Ruiz of Koloa, Kaua’i, Myra Muramoto of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, Helen (George) Hirano of Gardena, Calif., Gladys (Frank) Yoshii of Long Beach, Calif., and Naomi Masaki of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; 35 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
James Villaros, Sr.
James Villaros Sr. of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Mem. Hosp. on Mar. 16, 2002, at the age of 74.
Born in Pakala, Kaua’i on Apr. 1, 1927, he was a retired gardener with Allerton Estate-NTBG.
He is survived by wife, Sarah of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; sons, James Villaros Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev. and Robert Villaros of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Loling Omakanim of Pakala, Kaua’i and Penang Mande of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Mar. 21, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 11 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
