EVERYONE’S favorite performer, Larry Rivera, took time out from his busy performing and work schedule to help The Garden Island staff bid a fond aloha to staff writer Dennis Wilken, who is leaving TGI to return to Seattle, Wash. During his tenure here, Wilken covered police, courts and county council. He said he will miss Kaua’i’s weather and scenic beauty and the friends he has made on the island. At a farewell luncheon Thursday, Rivera treated the guest of honor to a special serenade, including the song he wrote commemorating the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
