Jonathan W. Rivera didn’t sleep in his own bed Wednesday or Thursday night.
And the 35-year-old Kapa’a man won’t be spending this weekend at home either.
Rivera is in jail at KCCC.
The thin man with neck tattoos was arraigned in Judge Trudy Senda’s District courtroom Thursday afternoon on two counts of felony burglary and two counts of felony theft.
Rivera was also charged with two counts of criminal property damage and three drug charges including possession.
Prosecutors say Rivera is charged with the burglaries of the Surf and Turf Cafe in Kapa’a, and a Touch of Elegance, a Lihu’e beauty salon.
Rivera, visibly shaking and dressed in pajama pants and a tee-shirt will have a preliminary hearing in Senda’s courtroom Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Judge Senda also commissioned a bail study which will determine whether Rivera will have a chance to leave the jail until his trial.
His trial date will likely be set at his preliminary hearing Monday afternoon.
