Two KIF boys teams and the Kaua’i Red Raider mixed team each placed in the finals of the KIF State Paddling Championships in Oahu, Sunday.
The Kaua’i Red Raider mixed team notched third with a 4:08.93 finish; four seconds slower than the champion Lahainaluna team.
The Kapa’a boys paddling team came in fifth in States with a 3:56.32; 13 seconds slower than winner Punahou (3:43.31). The Kaua’i boys fought hard for the seventh place spot in the finals. They finished in 4:01.24.
The Warrior girl’s team was disqualified in the quarerfinals. They placed seventh in the second heat of the preliminary round.
Kamehameha won the girls paddling competition over Iolani with a time of 4:13.57.
