Starter Ray Shirai (2-2/3 innings) and Aina Emayo combined to limit St. Joe’s to three runs on two hits, with six walks, three HBP’s, and three errors.
The Cardinals left eight Menehune runners stranded.
Waimea scored their three runs on seven hits (led by Rayson Cacal (double) and Clarence Aki (double)), on four Cardinal errors.
– In the second game, Kaua’i got the 6-3 edge over Pahoa.
The Raider offense banged out 10 hits, drew three walks and took advantage of three Dagger miscues in scoring their six runs and leaving seven on.
For the Red Raiders, Gabriel Rebb went 3-4 (3 singles, RBI) while Jake Oketani (double, single) and Scott Serizawa (triple, single, two RBIs) paired hits for the victors.
Starter Alec Reichle (five innings, seven strikeouts) and Kekoa Crowell combined to limit the Daggers to three runs on six hits, three walks, and two Raider errors.
Pahoa left six runners on.
– St. Joseph’s was able to pull out a win in their second game of the day against Kapa’a, beating them by the slim margin of 5-4.
The potent St. Joseph attack cashed in their five runs on eight hits, two walks, one HBP and two Kapa’a miscues.
They left eight runners stranded.
Tyson Usui (2 singles, 2 RBIs) paired hits and Ronnie Carvalho doubled for the victors.
Gerred Faisca (four innings) and reliever Davin Feary combined on a seven-inning no-hitter, and allowed four runs on five walks, four HBP’s and four Cardinal errors.
The Warriors, in losing consecutive one-run ball games, left five runners on the bags.
Four more games will be played on Saturday, from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m at Kapa’a Field.
