Frederick Frizelle, Jr.
Frederick “Fred” Frizelle, Jr., of Honolulu, Hawai’i, died at his residence on Feb. 24, 2002, at the age of 76.
Born in Honolulu, Hawai’i, on May 6, 1925, he was the retired President of Frederic R. Frizelle and Associates. Retired from the U.S. Navy, Hawaiian Electric Company and the Hawaiian Equipment.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia Glenn Frizelle; son: Edward Frizelle; daughter: Sarah Jane Frizelle; sister: Jane Heine, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Mar. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the O’ahu Cemetery Chapel. A Memorial Service will begin at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Inurnment will follow the service at the O’ahu Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Harold Mariani, Sr.
Harold Arthur James Mariani, Sr. of Hanapepe, Kaua’i, died Feb. 24, 2002, at Kaua’i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 61.
The president of Mariani’s Auto Body Inc., he was born in Honolulu.
He is survived by his wife: Deborah Mariani of Hanapepe; three daughters; Rose (Bernard) Silva of Kalaheo, Marie (Melvin) Damasco of Hanapepe, and Cherie (Richard) Rudolph of California; one son: Harold (Sylvia) Mariani, Jr. of Hanapepe; two sisters: Emily Nazario of Hilo and Leatrice (David) Perons of Colorado; three step daughters: Darie (Kyle) Relacion of Kapa’a, Danielle Michioka of Koloa and Dawn Michioka of Koloa; 15 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Shirley Pacheco
Shirley Lei Pacheco of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i, died Feb. 24, 2002, at her home at the age of 64.
A dishwasher in the restaurant industry, she was born Sept. 2, 1937.
She is survived by two sons: Vernon Pacheco and Douglas Pacheco; three daughters: Melissa Pacheco Agan, Rosalind Pacheco, and Dolores Pacheco; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers: Robert Boro, Donald Boro and Roy Boro; two sisters: Irene Lovell and Barbara Rita; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 4, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. with services to be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Michael Foster
Michael Warren Foster, 57, of Phoenix and Kaua’i, died at home in Phoenix on Feb. 16, 2002, surrounded by family and friends after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Aug. 3, 1944, in Boston, Mass., he was the son of Wayne Edward and Phyllis Geneva (Smith) Foster. He attended Boston public schools and received his bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University. He joined the Army after college, and served in Viet Nam as a helicopter pilot. He received his law degree from Suffolk University, practiced law in New York and for many years in Arizona, and had recently commenced a new career on Kaua’i, specializing in land use and planning.
He is survived by his wife: Claire; son: Drew; mother: Phyllis of San Jose, Calif.; brother: Ralph of Leominister, Mass.; sister: Linda Lach; brother-in-law Peter Tegan and nephew Michael Lach of Kaua’i; sister: Beverly Seinberg of Burington, New Jersey, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services are being held in Phoenix, with a celebration of his life to be held in Hawai’i at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael W. Foster Memorial Fund, c/o Law Office of Linda Lach, 4473 Pahe’e St., Lihue, HI.
