Wesley Alan Palmeira of Seattle, Wash., died at his home on Jan. 26, 2002, at the age of 29.
Born Dec. 12, 1972, in Lihu’e, HI, he worked at Freeway Motors as an accounts payable clerk.
He is survived by his parents, Antoinette (Medina) Palmeira of South Dakota and Alan (Sandra) Palmeira of Kapa’a; sister: Wendy Palmeira of Seattle and Kapa’a; stepsisters, Sheri and Ashley Rapozo of Kaua’i; grandparents: Antone (Mabel) Medina of ‘Oma’o, Ernest Palmeira, and Alice (Gomes) Palmeira, both of Kapa’a; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandmother Monsarattie (Mohica) Rodrigues, grandfather Valentine Tacbian, and great-grandmother: Laura (Mohica) Medina.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; Mass to follow at 10 a.m.
Juan Buza
Juan “Johnny” Buza of Kekaha, Kauai, died at home on Feb. 1, 2002, at the age of 90.
Born in Santa, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on June 19, 1911, he was a sugar cane ramp unloader for Kekaha Sugar Plantation. He is survived by daughter, Eileen Buza of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Sherry (Al) Emayo of Kekaha, Kaua’i, Selena Camat of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, Sonny Camat of Las Vegas, NV., Cindy Camat of Las Vegas, NV., Lara (Malcolm) Hale of Pt. Magu, CA., Sean Buza and Lisa Buza of Honolulu, O’ahu; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Kekaha; Mass officiated by Father Larry will begin at 3 p.m. Followed by burial at the Kekaha County Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
