Edward Jones Kaua’i office is celebrating
The grand opening of the Kaua’i office of Edward Jones is this Saturday, Jan. 19, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., along Kuhio Highway near Hanama’ulu Restaurant (cafe). Ruben J. Rea is the firm’s Kaua’i agent, an investment representative for the investment firm serving individual investors exclusively.

Human resources solutions are offered
Basic Principles for a Collaborative Workplace is the first in a series of courses offered by Human Resources Solutions, a Honolulu firm contracted by the Employment and Training Fund Office of the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
It is set for this Thursday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Kaua’i Electric conference room near Kukui Grove Center. Participants will hear an overview of the expanding role of supervisors and managers, and why the need for their personal skill development has never been greater. Sheraton Po’ipu does more renovation work
New meeting facilities are under construction at the Sheraton Kaua’i Resort at Po’ipu. The space formerly occupied by Naniwa and The Breakers restaurants are being transformed into space that can accommodate group meetings large and small. The property hopes to lure more group business with the changes.
Po’ipu reference guide is published
The 2002, comprehensive, 36-page guide to the Po’ipu Beach resort area has been published by the Po’ipu Beach Resort Association, taking full advantage of the beach being named the best in the United States by Dr. Steve “Doctor Beach” Leatherman of Florida International University.

Women in business seminar is coming
Survival Tactics for Women Business Owners is the first educational seminar of the new year from the Kaua’i center of the Hawai’i Small Business Development Center Network, set for this Thursday, Jan. 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kaua’i Community College Office of Continuing Education training classroom.
The session is free and open to the public, but advanced registration is required by calling 246-1748. Participants will learn ways to grow a business, and finance that business growth. The seminar is designed to help women business owners redirect, refocus and reinvigorate their businesses by helping to identify potential new markets through expansion and diversification.
Aloha publishes January timetable
Reflecting both the traditional post-holiday travel slowdown and national and international economic influences, Aloha Airlines recently published its January timetable, showing fewer flights. It lists the carrier’s 135 daily interisland and transpacific flights.
