King Auto Center likely will need to either build Jeff S. Corona a larger office, or get him some storage space for all the plaques he’s accumulated.
After selling more than 200 cars and trucks for the dealership near Kukui Grove Center last year, Corona for the fifth time was named King Auto Center’s salesperson of the year.
He won monthly awards as the top producer at the Honda, Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth and Jeep dealership in 2001 several times.
“I like cars and I like people. I love the car business,” he said. “It’s my chosen profession.”
The 38-year-old Lihu’e resident has sold cars on Kaua’i for 17 years for three dealers, and for three years before that in his native Southern California.
He said he has a simple strategy: “I sell people what they want.”
Corona normally works six days a week. Lately, though, he’s been taking Thursdays and Sundays off, and has found working just five days has helped his productivity as well as internal stress levels.
He has three sons.
