Ana Pascua
Ana Apolinario Pascua of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Queens Hospital on Jan. 7, 2002, at the age of 70.
Born in the Philippine Islands on Sept. 5, 1931, she retired from Wilcox Hospital as a nurses aide.
She is survived by sons: Bobbin Tabalno and Patrick Pascua; daughters: Vera (Gilbert) Tom and Regina (Frolando) Cabico; brothers: Vincente, Henry, Roman, Ismael Tabalno; Sisters: Maria Baltazar, Marcelina Bumacod, Dominga Arellano; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Jan. 14, at the Lihu’e United Church. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. and services will be at 3 p.m. Burial to follow at the Lihu’e Public Cemetery. Reception to follow burial service.
Earl Pavao
Earl Pavao of Hanalei, Kaua’i, died at Queen’s Medical Center on Jan. 7, 2002, at the age of 42.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on Feb. 3, 1959, he was a farmer for the Taro Farm.
He is survived by his mother: Barbara Say of Hanalei, step-father: Sun (Pauly) Kwong Say of Hanalei; grandmother: Elizabeth Martin of Honolulu, four brothers: John (Diane) Pavao of Wailua; Pierre (Julie) Pavao of Kilauea; Paul Bun Chung Say of Hanalei; Byron Bun Chin Say of Hanalei; one sister: Keala (Dominic) Batalini of Wailua; his sweetheart: Jonquil Simons of Wailua; father: John Pavao, Sr., of Kalaheo; two step-brothers: David Pavao of Kalaheo, William Pavao of Kalaheo; one step-sister: Janell Pavao of Kalaheo; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Hanalei Waioli Hui’ia Church from 9:30 a.m. Services to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Hanalei Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Simau Fonoimoana
Simau Fonoimoana, of Kekaha, Kaua’i, died at Kaua’i Veterans Memorial Hospital on Jan. 7, 2002 at the age of 73. Born in Mapusaga, American Samoa on June 10, 1913, he was a retired tile contractor and commercial fisherman.
He is survived by sons, Scot of Oahu; Ted of Kaua’i and Kent of O’ahu; daughters, Lindy Carlson of Tahiti, Cindy Tutor of Oahu, Maria Feagai of Oahu and Vicki Fonoimoana of Kaua’i; father, Tao Simamau Fonoimoana; mother, Line Tonumaipea Laei; brother, Kosena Fonoimoana of O’ahu.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Kekaha Small Boat Harbor; service at 4 p.m.
Casual or aloha attire is suggested.

Kaoru Okubo
Kaoru Okubo of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Mem. Hosp. on Jan. 10, 2002 at the age of 90.
Born in Halehaka, Kaua’i on May 11, 1911, he was a retired mechanic with Garden Island Motors.
He is survived by his wife, Yoshie; son, Calvin (Lenora) Okubo of O’ahu; daughters, Carol Bobisud of Lihu’e, Kaua’i and Luanne (Al) Lacro of Washington; six grandchildren; brother, Suemi (Annie) Okubo of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; sisters, Akiko Masumura of Lihue, Kaua’i, Yaeko (Hideto) Muramoto of Oahu and Yasuko (Jackie) Urata of Eleele, Kaua’i; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service officiated by Rev. Motoyoshi will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the Lihu’e Hongwanji Mission. Casual or aloha attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
