Alice Mikiko Mukai of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 1, 2001, at the age of 87.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i on Feb. 9, 1914, she retired at Wailua Golf Course.
She is survived by a brother, Harold (Myra) Nishimoto of Wailua Houselots, Kaua’i and sisters, Ayako Elsie Ito and Ruth Nishimoto both of Honolulu, Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Kapa’a Hongwanji Mission; service at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Valentine Peroff Sr.
Valentine Peroff Sr., of Honolulu, died on Dec. 1, 2001 in Honolulu, at the age of 86.
Born on Sept. 20, 1915 in Wailuku, Maui. A long time resident of Kaua’i. He was a retired Hawai’i Army National Guard Master Sergeant.
He is survived by his son, Valentine (Barbara) Peroff Jr., and daughters: Valerie (Herbert) Imanaka and Rowena (William) Blaisdell all of Honolulu; brothers: Borick and Nick Peroff both of Wailuku, Maui. 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at St. Elizabeth Episcopal Church on 720 N. King St. Service to begin at 5:30 p.m. Private inurnment to be held at a later date. Aloha attire is suggested and Flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Ordenstein’s Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary.
Arturo Garcia
Arturo Garcia of Kapa’a, died at his residence on Nov. 22, 2001, at the age of 46.
A laboratory aide at Wilcox Hospital, he was born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Nov. 19, 1955.
He is survived by his wife: Elma Garcia of Kapa’a, sons: Sherwin Garcia and Shane Garcia, both of Kapa’a, father: Pedro Garcia of Maui, step-mother: Myrna Garcia of Maui, brothers: Tomas (Ofelia) Garcia and Fernando (Linda) Garcia both of Kapa’a, and sisters: Ester (Clemente) Agas of Kapa’a, Mercedes (Sonny) Ruiz of Kapa’a and Mayrose Garcia of Maui, and mother-in-law: Violeta Corotan.
There are numerous uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 7, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 6-9 p.m. Prayer service, celebrated by Father Keahi, will be at 7 p.m. Cremation will follow.
Friends may gather on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the family residence for a memorial luncheon at noon.
