Puhi resident Victoria Golden, a licensed massage therapist by trade and teacher, artist, writer, poet, counselor, author and healing arts practitioner by avocation, is offering all of Kaua’i an early holiday present.
She feels she is not the only “teacher of love” on Kaua’i, or someone compelled by recent events and the fortune of being able to live in paradise to volunteer their talents to teach others.
Golden will offer a course, “Behavior for Joyous Living,” at her Halelani Village apartment, L-204, at the corner of Hanalima Street and Puhi Road, Tuesday through Thursday, Dec. 4 to 6, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each day.
The event is free and open to the public, and while she hopes people will attend all three nights, they will find benefit from attending just one if that is all they can schedule.
Golden feels the people of Kaua’i are in excellent position to “boldly demonstrate the meaning of aloha and community for the rest of the world. Particularly Kauaians, I feel, are in a great position to direct and change the future.
“I see us as leaders in the healing arts. We are so close to nature here,” she said.
The course will offer practical ways for people to get out of what she sees as an anxiety phase, out of the doldrums and into “the wonders of our life.” Lasting harmony and pulling together is what she teaches.
Visitors and residents are welcome to attend, she said.
Calling herself a “people scientist,” Golden has been studying the human creature for decades, and has developed an informational system based in truth and aimed at instilling peaceful, healthy and joyous lifestyles in anyone interested.
Golden decided to offer her services as a gift because she feels there is a need in the community, amplified by the events on and after September 11.
