Loyal Garner, of Kane’ohe, died Nov. 15, 2001, at Queen’s Hospital at the age of 55.
Born in Honolulu, Hawai’i, she was the state’s “Lady of Love”, entertainer, composer and musician.
She is survived by her family, Janice Ukauka, Lisa Ukauka Kupau and Lanson Kupau; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Kupau, Lanson Boy Kupau and Janson Kupau; sister, Alicia Smith and brothers, Kimo Garner and George Manu.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26, at Kawaiahao Church, service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Ordenstein’s Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary.
Martin Bergonia
Martin Bergonia of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at his residence in Kapa’a, on Nov. 11, 2001 at the age of 69.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on July 14, 1932, he was a Maintenance Man at Kaua’i Surf and retired from The Westin in 1993, and a Retired Staff Sgt. with the Hawai’i Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife: Nenita Dugay Bergonia of Kapa’a; one daughter: Sheri Lynn Bergonia of Kilauea; one son: Anthony “Andy” Bergonia of Kapa’a; four brothers: Frederico (Florence) Bergonia of Hanama’ulu; Julian (Dolores) Bergonia of California; Victoriano (Judy) Bergonia of Indiana; Bienvenido “Ben” Bergonia of Kaua’i; three sisters: Marciana (Alfredo) Ballesteros of Hanama’ulu; Lapaz Fisher of Maryland; Isabella Julian of California, numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Nov. 26, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. By Father Coyle. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.
