Georgina ‘Nina’ Kaneholani
Georgina “Nina” Kaneholani of Anahola, Kaua’i, died at home on Nov. 16, 2001 at the age of 50. Born in Honolulu, Oahu on May 10, 1051 she was a Salesperson with Poi Pounder Shirts at the Coconut Marketplace.
She is predeceased by her husband Harry Kaneholani Sr. and son Lawrence “Baba” Kaneholani. She is survived by daughter Uilani (Keanu Davis) Kaneholani of Anahola, Kaua’i; sons, Harry Kaneholani, Jr. of Anahola, Kaua’i and Malcolm Kaneholani of Honolulu, Oahu; mother, Carol Ramos; brothers, Rusty Jose of Honolulu, Oahu, Rocco Ramos of Haleiwa, Oahu, Jesse Jose of Haleiwa, Oahu and George Ramos; sisters, Ann (Macky) Dorha of Portland, OR., Cindy (Matty) Bevak of Arizona, Bell (George) Leigh of Pupukea, Oahu and Anna (Lawrence) Kalulu of Haleiwa, Oahu; 3 grandchildren: Numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 23, at 6-9 p.m. at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 7 p.m. And again at on Saturday, Nov. 24, 9 a.m. at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Service officiated by Sonny Amina will begin at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at the Kapa’a County Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Martin Bergonia
Martin Bergonia of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at his residence in Kapa’a, on Nov. 11, 2001 at the age of 69.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on July 14, 1932, he was a Maintenance Man at Kaua’i Surf and retired from The Westin in 1993, and a Retired Staff Sgt. with the Hawai’i Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife: Nenita Dugay Bergonia of Kapa’a; one daughter: Sheri Lynn Bergonia of Kilauea; one son: Anthony “Andy” Bergonia of Kapa’a; four brothers: Frederico (Florence) Bergonia of Hanama’ulu; Julian (Dolores) Bergonia of California; Victoriano (Judy) Bergonia of Indiana; Bienvenido “Ben” Bergonia of Kaua’i; three sisters: Marciana (Alfredo) Ballesteros of Hanama’ulu; Lapaz Fisher of Maryland; Isabella Julian of California, numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Nov. 26, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. By Father Coyle. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Casual attire is suggested.

Francisca Valentin
Francisca B. Valentin of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 6, 2001, at the age of 78.
Born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, P.I. on Oct. 7, 1923, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by daughters, Gertrudis (Epifanio) Agmata of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i and Eugenia (Bernardo) Anselmo of P.I.; three grandchildren, Eumalyn V. Mabini of Kaua’i, Ronald V. Anselmo and Rowena V. Anselmo, of the Philippines.; and nieces Lucena (Tony) Yadao of Honolulu and Rosalie (Feli) Bonoan of Oxnard, Calif.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church; Mass officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Lihu’e Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Lawrence Redongo
Lawrence “Sonny” Redongo of Koloa, Kaua’i, died Nov. 8, 2001, at his home in Koloa, at the age of 60.
An irrigator for Grove Farm & McBryde Sugar, he was born March 19, 1941, in Koloa, Kaua’i.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth “Liz” Redongo of Koloa; one son: John Redongo of O’ahu; three daughters: Lori Lee Redongo of Koloa, Leah Ann Redongo of Lihu’e, and Laura Ann (Timothy) Rita of Kapa’a; two sisters: Leo Kouchi of Makaweli and Catherine (Joe) Fraticelli of O’ahu; two brothers: William Redongo of California and John (Connie) Ceda of Oma’o; 15 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Nov. 30, at Borthwick Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
