Yachiyo Matsuoka of Makaweli, Kaua’i, died at Queen’s Medical Center on Oct. 21, 2001, at the age of 85.
Born in Pakala, Kaua’i on Jan 31, 1916, she was a retired employee with Gay & Robinson Sugar Plantation.
She is survived by two sons: Gary M. Matsuoka of Makaweli, Kaua’i and Kenny S. (Jill) Matsuoka of West Linn, OR., and one daughter: Judith E. (Gary) Bale of Byron, MN; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Orie (Clifford) Saruwatari of Honolulu, O’ahu and Hanako Kobayashi of Honolulu, O’ahu.a
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, at the Waimea Honpa Hongwanji Mission; service officiated by rev. Ikeda will begin at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
