LIHU’E – Kaua’i blood donors are offering to give to help the victims of the World Trade Center attack.
Wilcox Health System spokesperson Lani Yukimura said her office is receving a steady stream of calls from blood donors.
Yukimura said she is awaiting word from the Blood Bank of Hawaii regarding shipping blood from Kaua’i to Honolulu, and then onto New York.
As of Tuesday morning all flights are grounded at Lihue Airport and Honolulu International Airport.
Yukimura said the hospital is taking names and phone numbers of prospective blood donors. She said prospective blood donors should call 245-1005 to be put on the list.
