Fifth Circuit Court cases adjudicated on July 10:
– Matthew Davidson, known for his failed attempt to swim to Ni`ihau in June, pleaded not guilty to charges of burglary and theft, stemming from an incident in which he allegedly broke into a North Shore-area market to eat.
A pre-trial hearing was set for Aug. 30, and a trial was set for Sept. 17.
He remains in custody on Oahu, where he was sent by Kaua`i Correctional Community Center officials because he was disruptive, according to authorities.
Davidson was represented by a well-known Oahu attorney, Howard Luke.
– A bench warrant for $5,000 was issued for Catherine Curammey, who failed to appear on charges of negotiating worthless checks and theft.
– Judge Clifford Nakea set a trial date of Sept. 10 for Tom S. Yamamoto, who is charged with burglary, theft, reckless endangerment and assault of a police officer. Yamamoto remains in custody at Kaua`i Community Correctional Center.
