From TGI Reports
Puakea Golf Course will offer a free golf clinic for girls on Sunday, June 24, beginning at 9 a.m.
As part of “Take Your Daughter to the Course Week,” the free clinic will be instructed by Puakea’s head professional, Kellie Pleas, and assistant professional, Patrick Hunt. This will be a great opportunity for parents to introduce their daughters to the game of golf.
In addition to the clinic, Puakea will offer a golf-and-lunch package to any adult that brings a girl to the course on Sunday, June 24.
Call Puakea for more information at 245-8756. The promotion is sponsored by the National Golf Course Owners Association.
In addition, Puakea will offer another special during the week of June 18-24. That is, any paying adult can bring his or her girl (daughter, niece, goddaughter, granddaughter) to play for free (for ages 7-18).
“Although 22 percent of golfers are female, only 13 percent of junior golfers are girls,” Pleas said. “We feel it is important to encourage more girls to get involved in the game so that they can experience the fun of the game and benefit from the life skills that golf has to offer.”
