The tournament will be double-elimination, and the entry deadline is June 22. The tourney entry fee will be $200. Any interested players or teams should contact tournament coordinator Kaleo Perez at 245-4948 or page him at 644-1274.
Summer League baseball interest?
Waimea High School softball coach Pat Baniaga is trying to spark an interest in baseball. He is trying to get the wheels turning on an independent Summer Baseball League for players between the ages of 15 and 18.
The league’s purpose would be to provide an opportunity for players to keep and improve their baseball skills and talents.
At least three teams would be needed to start the league. Entry fee would consist of cost for liability insurance and umpires. Each team would be responsible for their own uniforms, equipment and other essentials.
Any interested coach should call Baniaga at 335-3169 or 651-5880 no later than June 15, so an organizational meeting can be scheduled.
