Here are the results of the April 8 Adult Mixed League action of the USTA Hawai’i Pacific Region — Kaua’i District:
In the 7.0 matches, So What! held off the force of Sudden Impact. Chris Webster and Joyce Yamase defeated Sid Francisco and Darlene Joseph 6-2, 6-0; Ron Garlie and Vikki Colacino were beated by Kenny Mateo and Marvis Kerr 5-7, 2-6; and Bernard and Jodie Matsumoto whipped Tom Lambert and Vanessa Bobiles 6-0, 6-3. This was Sudden Impact’s only loss in the division. The team will represent Kaua’i in 7.0 play on Oahu in June.
Over the Easter weekend, the Poipu Kai Tennis Club hosted the Poipu Class Tennis Championships. Here are the winners from each division:
Women’s 3.0 singles: Lore Lizotte defeated Jodi Matsumoto 6-3, 6-0
Women’s 3.5 singles: Rosemary Smythe defeated Bernadette Wickman 6 3, 6-2
