Spike Isamu Kanja of Lihu’e, died at home on April 11, 2001, at the age of 75.
Born in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, on the Feb. 3, 1926, he was a retired carpenter with various companies.
He is survived by: two brothers: Masaru Kanja and Kenneth (Doris) Kanja, both of California; three sisters: Fumiyo (Toshio) Kouchi and Masako Shintani, both of Honolulu, Oahu, and Aiko (Sam) Akioka of California; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, at the Lihu’e Honganji Temple; services officiated by Rev. Yukiko Motoyoshi will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
