Parent-teacher conferences are being scheduled to run today through Feb. 28.
Parents will be meeting with their childrens’ core team teachers during the 15-minute period arranged through the conference form sent to parents in the mail.
During this week, students will be released from school at 11:30 a.m., with the bus schedule adjusted to accommodate the conference schedule. Parents of car pick-up students should make arrangements to pick up their children at 11:30 a.m.

Super Enrichment Saturday
Na Pua No’eau will present its Super Enrichment Saturday on Feb. 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Anahola Beach Park.
The event is open to students of Hawaiian ancestry in grades K-6 and their families, and will feature reef walking, canoe paddling, fishing, singing, stories of the ocean and marine life classes. Children are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch and tabis or sneakers.
Registration forms for the event are available at all Hawaiian Agencies, Alu Like, Ho’ola Lahui, KSBE, Department of Hawaiian Homelands, Quenn Lili’uokalani Childrens Center, Boys and Girls Club and all school offices.

Kaua’i science fair
The Kaua’i community is encouraged to attend the 2001 Kaua’i District Regional Science Fair Feb. 24 at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will showcase student science projects from across the island, with some destined to represent Kaua’i at the State Science and Engineering Fair in April.
The student recognition program is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
Island School yard sale
Island School high school students are sponsoring a yard sale Feb. 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on their Puhi campus behind Kaua’i Community College.
All proceeds will benefit student government activities.
Waimea High progress reports
Waimea High students will receive a new progress report form Feb. 26 in their first period class.
Including grades, attendance and comments from all six teachers for the first four weeks, the reports are not final grades for the quarter.

Retired teachers convention
The Hawai’i State Retired Teachers Association will hold its 42nd annual convention March 6 and 7 at the Hawai’i Naniloa Resort in Hilo.
With the theme “Opening our doors to new opportunities and challenges,” the event will feature various guest speakers.

Instructional materials fair
The 2001 Kaua’i District Schools Instructional Materials Fair will take place March 7 from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Kaua’i War Memorial Convention Hall.
Representatives of publishers, supply and equipment companies and other businesses will be displaying textbooks, books, equipment, crafts and other educational items.
All public and private school teachers, as well as other school personnel, as well as parents and other members of the community are invited to attend the event.
