Local Heroes make their communities better places to live.
The Garden Island salutes them.
J.W. Marriott would be proud of the community-minded employees at Kaua’i Marriott Resort and Beach Club.
The front-office staff donated their time and resources to collect toys from within their department for the Salvation Army and Marines’ annual Toys for Tots drive last month.
By the time they were done, the workers had also collected 175 pounds of canned food to give the Salvation Army.
Not only that, but the employees raised $1,026 – an average of $41 per person – for the last Kaua’i United Way campaign.
Kaua’i Marriott officials said the front-office associates exemplify the commitment to community service of J.W. Marriott, chairman of Marriott International. Their efforts earned them a Kau I Ka We Kiu (“To have reached the pinnacle”) Award for their dedication to Kaua’i.
Kaua’i Marriott employees vie for the award through participation in their community.
