It’s time for the keiki to get out and run again.
The 18th Annual
Youth Run, sponsored by the East Kaua’i’s YMCA’s men’s club and the YMCA of
Kaua’i, will be on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Kilohana Grounds.
The one- and
two-mile run will begin at 8 a.m., with late registration commencing at 7:30
a.m. Children 16 or under are encouraged to run or walk in the race. Kids also
may be pushed in their stroller by their parents. The one-mile run is for
children 10-and-under; the two-mile run is for children between the ages of 10
to 16.
First- and second-place ribbons will be awarded to a boy and girl in
each age group. A drawing will be held for all participants with prizes such as
bicycles, soccer balls, fishing rods and snorkel sets up for grabs. All of the
prizes are being donated by the attorneys of Kaua’i.
Cost to register is
$6, and includes T-shirts and refreshments for each registered participant.
