After all, Waimea will now represents the entire island on the biggest prep
stage of the year.
Today [Tuesday] we spent our usual time in the
weight room and did some running. Then we went right into working on our
kicking game. We reviewed kickoff return, onside kicks and onside
returns.
After that we went to reviewing our assignments on ‘D.’ We have to
know how we’re going to adjust to our opponent’s offensive sets.
Truth is we’re hoping for Wai’anae, and we’re concentrating more on them
because they are a perennial powerhouse over there. Waimea has gotten a lot of
ideas from the Wai’anae program, so playing them is a bit like seeing
ourselves. We have a lot of respect for that team.
Wednesday will be our
first day in full pads, we’re going to hit again. And we’re going to work on
our fundamentals, try and get those sharp.
