Paint trailed 31-25 at halftime to Kuhio Motors, but managed to pull out a
67-56 victory in open league basketball action Tuesday night at Kalaheo
Neighborhood Center.
Chuck Reichie led Paint with 19 points. The winners
also got 17 from Chris Acoba. Kuhio’s Brian Doo scored a team-high 15 points in
a losing effort.
Sixteen points from Arthur Hernandez and 15 from Blake
Anakoloa were enough to get Lizard Lounge by Rob’s Good Time, 66-51. Dustin
Gummerus led Rob’s with 21 points. Lizard led 42-14 at the half.
In the
evening’s final game, the Red Dirt Boys put a hurting on Kimana, winning 94-65
behind Chad Gummerus’ 38 points. Kaipo Brathwaite scored 21 in victory. Ricky
Oyama dropped a team-high 22 points for Kimana.

In Under 14 boys action, the Lihu’e Crew defeated Kalaheo 7-1
Saturday, Oct. 14. Crew goals were scored by Chad Naganuma (2), Cody Kimura
(2), Bryce Hosaka and Michael Hirahara. Kalaheo’s goal was scored by Corey
Muira.

Kaanapali Pro-Am tees off on
Maui
KAANAPALI, Hawaii (AP) — Larry Ziegler’s team was in the lead
after Wednesday’s opening action at the Kaanapali Classic Pro-Am on
Maui.
Warren Haruki, Bert Kobayashi, Gary Hogan and Mike Hartley rounded
out the team that held a three-stroke lead going into Thursday’s final action
at the Kaanapali North Course.
Rocky Thompson, Rex Caldwell and Walter
Morgan were tied for individual honors at 5-under-par 66.
