Youngblood gets two wins in 35 & over league

Here are the results of the County of Kaua’i 35
& Over Slowpitch Softball League for Tuesday, Oct. 10 and Thursday, Oct.
Tuesday, Oct. 10
Pahio 5; (3-0)
Ohana Motors 1; (2-1)
meeting of the league’s only 2-0 teams, Don Ouderkirk yielded just one run and
five hits as Pahio got the best of Ohana Motors 5-1. Blackie Viquela picked up
the loss for Ohana.
Pahio got two hits apiece from Ouderkirk, Jon
Kahaunaele, Rich Bryan (RBI) and Mike Ng (RBI) to secure the win.
Ohana players registered singles.
Braddah’s 3; (2-1)
Though the teams combined for 20 hits, niether had much luck at
putting players across home plate. But the Braddah’s did score one in the
first, fourth and seventh to pick up the 3-1 victory.
Jeff Iida was the
winning pitcher. Thomas Guess picked up the loss for Ikaika.
got three hits from D.D. Ibia, two apiece from Robert Labuguen and Bala Balalia
and one game winner from Sarge Palabag.
Ikaika’s Abe Kahaulua sent a home
run over the fences, and Richard Romones picked up two singles in the
Youngblood 6; (1-2)
Universal Delivery 1; (0-3)
got three singles and two RBI from Darrell Borrero, and scored three
first-inning runs, to send Universal into the loser’s column, 6-1.
Fujii also banged three singles for Youngblood. Weslie Pagador hit two, while
Sam Dias had a hit and a RBI. Lance Pascual was Youngblood’s winning
Lance Nakata picked up the loss for Universal. Mel Yamase hit two
singles for the team, and Tony Fry registered the lone RBI.
Universal Delivery 5; (1-3)
Ohana Motors 3; (2-2)
itself into the win column for the first time this season with a 5-3 victory
over Ohana Motors. A four-run Universal first inning proved too much for Ohana,
which lost two games this week, to overcome.
Lance Nakata pitched the win.
Frank Bukoski picked up the loss for Ohana.

Ichimasa eached singled twice for Universal. Ohana got a home run from Lance
Akama and atwo singles from Manny Cabral.
Pahio 7; (4-0)
Pahio remained perfect on the season with an easy 7-1 victory over
Ikaika. The victors had a field day at the plate. Rich Bryan registered two
doubles and a single. Herb Noe hit two singles and recorded two RBI; Keith
Alejo also hit two singles. Timmy Laranio rocketed a homer for Pahio
Ouderkirk was the winning pitcher, and helped his own cause with a single and
Pete Nero picked up the loss for Ikaika. Abe Kaunahele, Mike Lane
and Leslie Hiranaka each singled twice for the losing team.
Braddah’s 5; (2-2)
Youngblood picked up its second win of the
week with a come-from-behind 6-5 victory over Braddah’s. The winners trailed
5-4 going into the bottom of the sixth inning, but rallied with two runs,
including the game winner from Kent Marugame.
Sandy Pacheco was the winning
pitcher. D.D Ibia picked up the loss for the Braddah’s.
Hits for Youngblodd
were registered by Marugame (one), Antone Balocan (3), Victor Sasaki (2, RBI),
Aaron Uyeda, Rory Rayno (HR, 2 RBI) and Hoku Cup Choy (single, double,
