From one absentee voter to the others

As a absentee voter, I would like to bring something to the attention of other

absentee voters.

I v

te absentee because I worked the primary election

as a voter assistant official at the Kilauea precinct and do not feel

comfortable voting where I watch other voters vote.

The new vote counter

allows voters who spoil their ballots, by voting for too many canidates or not

marking their ballots properly, to find their mistakes and get another ballot

and make sure their vote is counted and not a spoiled ballot.

So even if

you receive an absentee ballot for general elections, you can bring the ballot

to your precinct and with voters assistance or help from the chairperson, you

can have your ballot run through the counter to make sure your vote

counts.

I was very impressed with the training for precinct officials and

how this election was run, and wish to thank the Kaua’i County clerk and all

his great workers and helpers for a big job well done. The bugs are worked out

an we should have a great general election.

And please vote. If everyone

voted, we would have a better community.

TROUTMAN
