Saturday, “It’s just awesome for us to be here, relating to our Hawaiian
lifestyle.”
The historic voyaging canoe sailed from Honolulu to Kalapaki on
the first leg of its statewide tour. The visit here is Polynesian Voyaging
Society’s way of thanking the public for supporting the fabled vessel. They
also serve to remind Hawai’i of its heritage by giving a practical
demonstration of how ancient Polynesians made their way to Hawai’i.
May
the Hokule’a sail forever.
