How about that Koloa? Something that lots of people always thought – that it’s
a tasty slice of Kaua’i – got a big two thumbs up from Sierra Club officials in
a nationwide salute last week of people-friendly communities.
Words
including “cozy,” “local feel” and “human-scaled” were used to describe Koloa.
Basically, it’s the kind of place that tourists are looking for when they want
to experience some of the best of what Kaua’i offers.
Its own townsfolk and
other islanders like Koloa, too. Now that the rest of the world is discovering
the place, will it lose the ambiance that made it so popular? Let’s hope
not.
