“Horrible eyesore’ doesn’t make sense
Now that Jimmy Pflueger is correcting his berm problem (TGI Sept. 13,
“Controversial berm cut down to size”), it would seem appropriate to focus on
the Michele and Justin Hughes project adjacent to Kealia Beach. They are
currently piling up junk rock, rubble and who knows what behind and in front of
their recently erected, ugly wire fence. Surely this horrible eyesore does not
meet setback or other permit requirements. Actually, it is far more of a blight
than Jimmy’s project.
One can only assume that this is being done for
security purposes. But surely they could afford a private security guard to
monitor their property. This would seem to be especially true since the Hughes
reportedly have maintained private security guards on a daily basis on our
public beaches. This has been ongoing for about 18 months. Evidently they are
protecting us from ourselves.
Finally, I understand this to be a very
“high end” development, and one would wonder who would want to own
property bounded by all of this junk? Maybe I am missing something
here.
