On Tuesday your paper printed an article on the Editorial page lauding the
local League of Women voters. I am not aware of who wrote the article but it
was inaccurate and misleading and misguided. Shortly before the vote on
homosexual marriage in Hawai’i, the League of Women Voters held what was billed
as a panel discussion of the pros and cons of homosexual marriage here in
Hawai’i. As I recall there were 7 panel members supposedly representing both
sides. There was only one member who was against homosexual marriage and he was
a last minute addition from the KCC staff. They even had a so-called minister
who claimed homosexuality was okay. It was a blatant attempt by the League of
Women Voters to promote homosexual marriage and by the stacking of the panel an
attempt to mislead the public into believing that the public as a whole
approved. If they want any credibility from me they should apologize to the
people of Kaua’i for that attempt to manage public opinion by
deceit.
