Hawaii-Hilo adds former player to coaching staff

Former PAC-10 co-Coach of the Year Guy Enriques has joined the volleyball staff

at UHH.

Enriques played two years of basketball at UHh before completing

his education at Washington State University in 1978. Enriques began his

coaching career at Gresham (Ore.) High School in 1980. In 1986, he guided the

team to a Class 4A state title. In 1987, Enriques took the reigns at Oregon

State University, where, in 1990, he led the Lady Beavers to a third-place

finish in the PAC-10 and a top-20 national ranking. That year, he was named

co-Coach of the Year, as well as West Region Coach of the Year.

Enriques

moved back to Hawai’i in 1993, and has been coaching on the Big Island

since.
