HONOLULU — Meeting planners have again selected the Hawai’i Visitors & Convention Bureau (HVCB) as one of the nation’s outstanding meeting-destination support organizations.
For the fifth year in a row, readers of Successful Meetings magazine named HVCB as a Readers’ Choice for the Pinnacle Award, recognizing excellence in serving the needs of meeting, incentive and convention planners.
The HVCB also has been notified that Hawai’i has won a Top Destination Award from Facilities & Destinations magazine.
“We are gratified to receive these awards, as they recognize the commitment of our HVCB Meetings, Conventions and Incentive team to provide unbeatable service and hospitality,” said Sandra Moreno, HVCB vice president of meetings, conventions and incentives.
The HVCB was recently notified of its choice as a Pinnacle Award winner by Douglas Cheney, publisher of Successful Meetings.
The awards are determined by 75,000 meeting planner readers of Successful Meetings, who vote by submitting ballots, Cheney said.
“As a winner of the Pinnacle Award, you and your entire staff have demonstrated to very demanding customers that you have the commitment to service that is essential for greatness,” said Cheney.
Facilities & Destinations Editor Stella Johnson said her magazine’s Readers’ Choice award was based on HVCB’s excellence in hosting various meetings and conventions.
Association meeting planners evaluated convention cities in terms of attractiveness of the destination, accessibility, value, professional service, accommodations, quality of facilities and involvement of the community. Winners of the 2000 Top Destination awards will be announced in the September/October issue of Facilities & Destinations.
