With no public discussion, the Kaua’i County Council took time out from an
animated discussion about Kaua’i Electric to approve four funding
requests.
The Council unanimously approved a $5000 Ho’olokahi grant to the
Kaua’i FILAM Jaycees Presidents Club to install landscaping improvements on the
grounds of the Kaua’i War Memorial Convention Hall.
Council also approved a
police request for $944.91 for three video cassette recorders that will be used
to play video taped training courses.
Council also approved a requerst from
Kaua`i Fire Chief David Sproat to accept $55,000 in grant monies from the
Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife to
purchase a brush vehicle with slip-on unit.
And, Council approved a request
from Eleanor J. Lloyd, Executive on Aging, requesting to expend $5917 in
federal funds…to be used for the continuing operations of the Kaua`i Retired
and Senior Volunteer Program project through Dec. 31, 2000.
