Three-year-old Angelica Gonzalez (above) had the play yard to herself Wednesday
as her mom was tied up getting sister Cassandra, a third grader, set up on the
first day of school at Kapa`a Elementary School. Meanwhile, the prospect of
getting lost didn’t seem to worry first grader Jacelyn Fliegel (far left)
because she had mom Blanche and sister Leeana, 3, to help her find her
classroom at the school. Jacelyn is transferring from King Kaumualii School
but didn’t mind the “short” summer vacation she enjoyed before school
started up again for her. Mom said Leeana wanted to go to school, too, so she
had to leave home with two separate backpacks.
