HANAPEPE—Teams from Carlsbad, California will match their mettle against PONY
baseball teams from Kaua`i during the Kaua`i Aloha 2000 that will take place at
the Hanapepe Sports Complex (Stadium) with games on July 31, August 1, August
4, and August 5.
The Carlsbad teams will be arriving on July 30 and will be
hosted to a potluck-style dinner at the Hanapepe Neighborhood Center by their
Kaua`i counterparts before engaging in some competitive baseball starting on
July 31.
With games starting at noon at the Hanapepe Complex, The Carlsbad
Mustangs will tangle with the Kalawai Mets, the Carlsbad Broncos will meet the
Kalawai Yankees, and the Carlsbad PONY will take on Waimea.
The West Kaua`i
14 & Under girls softball team will take on the Carlsbad 12 & Under
team.
Game times are noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. on July 31, August 1, and
August 4.
August 5th will be the running of the West Kaua`i Youth Baseball
League Benefit Golf Tournament at the Grove Farm Golf Course at Puakea from
8:30 a.m.
Special co-ed softball games are scheduled for the Anne Knudsen
(Koloa) Park at 2, 3, and 4 p.m. with a luau to follow at the new
pavilion.
