On July 17, someone drove or walked up to my secluded Kilauea home and strategically placed chunks of pork laced with a tremendous amount of Paraquat (a deadly herbicide) in my front yard for my dogs to find and eat. The toxicity was so enormous that the grass and plants around it became brown and died within a short time.
My dogs did bark when cars approached my home to alert me, but they did not bark excessively. They loved to romp and play on my five acres. Did they trespass across the property line?
One can only imagine what pain and suffering they endured from this terrible poison. One died after four days and the other after an agonizing seven, long days. Farmers who can still obtain this deadly herbicide, a.k.a. Grarnoxone-Extra, knows how lethal and dangerous it is if misused. They should know what potential it has in the wrong hands and keep it safely under lock and key out of the hands of someone with such a sick mind.
How can you call yourself a man and do such a cowardly act such as this? What if a child, your child, would have eaten the tainted meat? If you know or suspect someone that has committed this crime, please call me at 828-1300.
