MAKENA, Hawaii (AP) – The 10th event of the PGA Junior Series tees off Monday
at Makena Resort’s South Course on Maui.
The PGA’s summer tournament
program is for boys and girls ages 13 through 17.
The three-day Maui event
has attracted junior golfers from Hawaii and 13 other states, Guam, the
Northern Mariana Islands, Australia, Fiji and India.
Each of the 12
tournaments in the series awards points to the top 20 finishers in the boys’
and girls’ 15-17 age divisions.
At the conclusion of the series, the top
two boys and girls will receive berths in the PGA Junior Championship, which
Aug. 23-26 at the P-G-A National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
