LIHU’E-Jordan Cox, playing in the 11-12 age group, topped a field of 20 Kaua’i
Junior Golfers who emerged from a field of 51 boys and girls competing for a
shot at the 2000 Callaway Hawai’i State Junior Championships which will be held
at Turtle Bay-The Links in Kahuku, O’ahu on July 12-13.
Boys age group
medalists included Travis Toguchi (7-10), Cox (11-12), Chris Caycayon (13-14),
and Juston Thomas (15-17).
Girls age group medalists included Kimberly Yama
(11-12), Lehua Wise (13-14), and Jasmine Ornellas (15-17).
July 11 is set
aside for practice rounds and a player banquet. The 12-and-Under age divisions
will be competing on the Turtle Bay course, and the 13-18 age divisions will be
competing on the Links course.
