KALAHEO— Misty Hug had 12 points and Cissy Dennis fired 11 points to lead
Kaua`i to a 37-33 showing over the Boys & Girls Club (Kapa`a) in the latest
round of Kaua`i Youth Basketball Association 17 & Under girls hoops that was
played Friday night at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.

Arinaga, Ashley Farias, and Waiala Quisano had the Boys & Girls Club outscoring
Kaua`i 6-4 in the second period with Kaua`i’s sole scoring from Hug’s field
goal and a pair of charity shots.
Farias continued to lead the Boys & Girls
Club by coming up with 5 points in the final frame when Kapa`a pulled out an
11-8 offensive showing over Kaua`i. Arinaga added a pair of field goals in
that frame to help the effort.
Farias topped all scorers with 20 points for
the Boys & Girls Club with Quisano adding 7.
Run ‘N Gun shut down the Puhi
Wildcats in three quarters to wrap up a 25-11 defensive slugfest behind a
10-point showing by Napua Naumu.
Naumu was scoreless in the fourth frame,
the only period that the Puhi Wildcats tied Run ‘N Gun 4-4 behind goals from
Krystalyn Kashiwabara and Holly Iloreta. Run ‘N Gun was led by buckets from
Lorraine Lagoc and Sara Curnan.
High scorer for the Puhi Wildcats were
Faren Higley with 4 points and Sharee Alpeche with 3 points.

& Under basketball enters its final week of competition as three games go on
tap at the Kilauea Neighborhood Center tonight.
The Boys & Girls Club
(Kapa`a) takes on the Kilauea Hui starting with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff followed by
Kaua`i tangling with the Puhi Wildcats at 6:30 p.m.
The Run ‘N Gun will see
action against Kilauea in the finale starting at 7:30 p.m.
