Puhi, Pua Loke advance in KYBA 14-Under girls playoffs

KAPA`A—Puhi Wildcats’ Holly Iloreta had 9 of her game-high 12 points in the

opening frame as they went on to blank the Hanapepe RefuGs 46-0 in the KYBA

14-Under girls playoffs at Kapa`a High School.

Starlene Kelekoma had eight

points with Valerie Aficial and Stephanie Kashiwabara each firing six points in

the win.

Tehane Andaya, Kristine Sison, Natasha Defabian, Chasen Sherman,

and Brandee Abuan were strong for the RefuGs who were 0-for-6 at the free throw

line. The Wildcats were 0-for-2 at the charity stripe.

Ashley Belisario

led the (Pua Loke) Lihu`e team with 18 points as the girls in the red shirts

came charging off the opening tipoff and never looked back until they wrapped

up a 47-25 victory over the Kaumakani Supersonics with every player on the

floor having at least one score.

Ashley Mier topped the scoring for the

Supersonics with 7 points followed by Tiana Samio and Jessica Jacinto each

adding 6 points.
