Dear Ms. McCrory:
According to The Garden Island, May 21, Mr. Vaughn
Tyndzik is quoted as saying that the DLNR plans to issue two to three permits
allowing parasailing on Kaua’i.
Is this true? I can’t believe that a
decision was made before the public meeting in Kekaha was even scheduled! It
certainly would reflect poorly on the DLNR and whatever Sunshine Laws are taken
to mean in Hawai’i.
Please reassure me, say that Mr. Tyndzik’s statement is
not true. Let me feel that with 14 people present and 12 residents (including
Councilman Jimmy Tokioka) in opposition to parasailing that the voice of the
people of Kaua’i is still being heard.
I anxiously await your response.
Please contact me before I hear the engines being started on the parasailing
boats. And don’t forget to warn the turtles at Allerton.
