This is a follow-up to the letter sent you recently from June Stark in which
she complained about the new berm on the new estate being developed just south
of Kilauea.
That area is not the only one containing berms or dense hedges
which block out the view plain for all the rest of the citizens of this island.
It’s about time to see that these berms and thick hedges are removed so that
everyone has a view plain as required by laws on the books.
The same
applies to the berms and hedges as applies to sea walls, which are also
restricted but neglected.
Some one is asleep at the switch! Let’s find out
who’s responsible and take appropriate action to eliminate these eye sores,
whether it be the county council or some other political entity.
If those
responsible do not do their duties which they are obligated to do, it is time
to reduce their salaries by the percentage of work they are not
doing.
Let’s stop this free ride stuff and make those responsible for
maintaining the view plains, and other neglected entities on this island, do
what is required of them. And let’s forget this hang loose attitude of our
elected and appointed officials and insist they do the job they are paid to do.
Some of these people forget they are our employees, not our
bosses.
