Kapa`a’s Justin Thomas leads by a stroke

LIHU`E – Kapaa’s Justin Thomas who finished fifth in the KIF chamionships shot

a 2-under par 70 to lead after the first round of the David Ishii Boys State

Golf Championships at the Kauai Lagoons Mokihana Golf Course.

A pair of

Waiakea golfers are close behind. Gabriel Wilson shot a 71 and stands one

stroke behind. Ryan Masuda is two strokes behind with a 72 at the end of the

first day of competition.

In the team competition, Waiakea leads by five

strokes over Kaua`i.
