HONOLULU, HI – Entries continue to be accepted for the 2000 Aloha Section PGA
Junior Championship, June 26-27,2000 at The Links at Kuilima on Oahu.
The
winners of the boys’ and girls’ divisions of the Aloha Section PGA Junior
Championship qualify to join nearly 100 of the nation’s top junior golfers in
the national PGA Junior Championship, August 23-26,2000 at PGA National Golf
Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Open to Juniors, age 17 and under, the
25th national Championship features the boy and girl champions from each of the
PGA of America’s 41 Sections, winners from selected national junior
tournaments, season point leaders in the 2000 PGA Junior Series and members of
the 1999 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Rolex Junior All-American
first team.
The boy and girl Aloha Section PGA Junior Champions will
receive free domestic roundtrip air transportation, meals, and lodging to
compete in the national PGA Junior Championship.
The PGA Junior
Championship, one of the premier events in junior golf, has attracted more than
145,000 Juniors since its origin in 1976. Past competitors include many of
today’s leading PGA and LPGA touring professionals, including Tiger Woods,
Justin Leonard, Phil Mickelson, Dottie Pepper and Michelle McGann.
